2010 Featured Artist – Brandy Gale
Brandy Gale (Click for Bio) is one of the most exciting, energetic and collected artists currently living in Prince Edward County. Her colorful works of art are painted plein air, capturing the experience and feeling of being somewhere at some time.
We are very pleased to announce that Gale is the Rotary Featured artist of 2010. Her large painting “Conch #5″ is one of her latest pieces, painted on location in the Carribean.

Brandy Gale - "Conch #5" 2010, acrylic on canvas, 60"x36"
“Conch #5 is the culmination of many long hours spent painting in the tropics on location, from life. The conch is emblematic of so many things for me and it is the epitome of something prized from the ocean.” Brandy Gale
The piece is currently on display in her solo show 13º North of the Equator and 59º West of the Prime Meridian which presents dynamic work encapsulating the vibrancy, rhythms and colour of the West Indies island, Barbados where Gale painted on location earlier this year.

$10000 for Picton Hospital Foundation
The Rotary Club of Picton presented the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation with a cheque for $10,000 on July 29, 2008. The money was raised at the Rotary Wine Festival and went toward the purchase of a new fetal monitor, which is used among other things, to monitor fetal heart rate and uterine activity, such as contractions, during delivery. The monitor is also transportable in case of an emergency. Obstetrics nurse; Janice Heard said PECMH handles anywhere between 48 and 70 births per year. Shown here with the fetal monitor from left are Rotarians, Sally Cowan, Paul Gentile, Rotary President David Burn, Jim Hughes and Rick Jones. Janice Heard, OB nurse and Herb Stone, President of the PECMHF were also on hand for the presentation.
